About
Enterprise-grade engineering, built for small businesses
The standard of software normally reserved for companies with a technology department — brought to the businesses that need it most, by the person you actually talk to.
Who you actually work with
TechBony is deliberately small. When you hire it, you work directly with me — the engineer who writes the code, and the same person on the discovery call, in the sprint reviews, and at handoff. Nothing is relayed through an account manager, and nothing is quietly delegated to someone you have never met.
Behind that small footprint is more than nine years of building secure systems on AWS for financial services, philanthropy, and analytics teams — platforms that moved over 100,000 financial documents without losing one, and integrations carrying millions of dollars in annual grant payments. That kind of work does not get to fall over on a Tuesday.
TechBony exists to bring that same standard to small businesses. A salon, a clinic, a contractor, a local shop — none of them should have to choose between a template that breaks the moment they need something specific, and an agency retainer that costs more than the problem did.
In practice the work is nearly always the same shape: getting a business off paper. A website that actually brings customers in. Booking that fills the calendar without phone tag. A store that takes payment properly. And the quiet automation of whatever admin is currently eating your evenings.
The bias is toward less software, not more. Plenty of requests that arrive framed as builds turn out to be process or tooling problems, and saying so early is worth more to you than billing for a build nobody needed.
Where TechBony is most useful
If you are taking bookings by text, tracking orders in a notebook, retyping the same details into three different tools, or paying monthly for software that still does not quite fit — that is the conversation worth booking.
Remote-first
Why remote-first keeps this affordable
Every project runs over Google Meet and shared documents. That is not a compromise — it is a large part of why a small business can afford software built to this standard at all.
No agency overhead
You are paying for the engineering, not for offices, account managers, or a sales team. That is the main reason a small business can afford software that is properly built.
Everything in writing
Remote work forces decisions into writing. You end up with a plain record of what was agreed and why — which matters most a year later, when whoever remembers has moved on.
The right engineer, not the nearest one
The best fit for your problem is rarely the nearest shop on the high street. Remote-first means you pick on track record, and the same person stays with you start to finish.
In practice this means scheduled video check-ins rather than drop-in interruptions, written decisions rather than hallway agreements, and a staging environment you can open at any point to see exactly where things stand.
Let's find out if this is a fit
The discovery call is a conversation, not a sales pitch. Bring the problem in whatever shape it is currently in.
